Stage Parent : Super Hero
I design stuff when I am self soothing.
Some people knit. I do graphic design. It’s my thing.
I was thinking about all of the jobs a parent of a child actor has to do and it humbled me for a moment. I thought these badass mom and dads need to be called out for their contributions. Yeah the momager and stage mom type gets a bad name. We can reclaim that.
A stage parent who edits video, masters lighting, reads for self tapes, researches projects and is an acting coach - Impressive.
A stage parent who is a Publicist, Contract Negotiator, Rejection Therapist and Motivational Speaker - Wow.
Let us not forget they are also spiritual counselors as well as hair stylists and the whole darn wardobe department.
And most importantly they serve as President of their Child Actor’s Fan Club!
